Mike Newton, founder of Dedicated Micros and CEO of AD Group, recently wrote an article on the ‘true cost’ of IP CCTV systems. Controlware country manager Mark Harraway responded in defence of IP CCTV. Read both articles, then discuss them here…
The articles appeared in the May (Newton) and July (Harraway) issues of International Security Buyer’s Guide, in its regular Fovea – Industry Acuity feature.
DM focused on what it saw as the reality of the IP CCTV take-up at IFSEC this year, with hybrid solutions very much at the centre of its argument – and analogue replacements where needed.
But Controlware’s Mark Harraway believes the numbers quoted in Newton’s piece were “wrong and misleading”.
Controlware is offering to email both articles and a detailed cost breakdown of a 750 camera IP system to readers who visit its site. Once you’ve had a look at both pieces, return to this page and let us know where you stand.
